I mean, I didn't. But I wanted to.

My job has been absolute fucking hell for the past... er, since I started. I've only been with this firm since October and I was kinda sick and hospitalized for some of it, so I ordered myself to give it more time and try not to fucking hate it. Turns out that just made me hate it even more. The idea of one day being able to go to work and not spend my entire day hating everything about everything just made my current despair worse. So today I gave notice. Fuck yeah.

Of course the Managing Partner asked why I was leaving. That's when I mentally screamed "BECAUSE FUCK YOU. THAT'S WHY." Of course in real life I only said "I feel that my talent and ability lies in corporate and transactional law, with a little antitrust law thrown in for fun." Which is the truth.

For me, the best part is that everything transpired during only a 38hr time frame. I previously sent out some resumes to a few select firms in the area that handle corporate law, and on Monday at 4:55 p.m. I received an e-mail from an awesome firm asking me to contact them to set up an interview as soon as possible. At 5:14 p.m. I scheduled the interview for 2 p.m. Tuesday. At 5:30 p.m., during the end of the interview, the Managing Partner says to me: "I'm making a executive decision and I can guarantee that the hiring committee won't have a problem with it. We want you here, can give notice at your current firm tomorrow?" Fuck yes, I can! And did!
