I went to go hang out with some goats today that were in Brooklyn grazing a field for the sake of "art".
The installation will run through the end of today, and last night some goats were brought in to the picture as a grand finale to the project. We dropped by to see them this morning, and they'll be around until6 p.m. tonight. And yes, you can go in and pet them.
Later this summer "the installation will be plowed aside, and the enriched soil and composted clover will be incorporated into a new section of Brooklyn Bridge Park, under construction in the adjacent lot between 1 John Street and the East River." As for 1 John Street, that will become a residential building, of course.
So after I instagrammed the fuck out of everything and bragged about it on all relevant social media platforms, Hellephant was kind enough to point out that they were reported next seen being shipped off on a truck to a butcher. I'd feel bad, but I got a lot of likes out of it and really if you think about it, I'm really immortalizing them by putting them online. So really, they should be thanking me. Plus I bought Goat Simulator last week.
