If I’m remembering correctly, someone (Joel, maybe?) mentioned video production as being one of the things the staff really wanted to do that Nick seemed on board with but then abandoned. Sounds like a fun job for a creative person.

The Team

Gawker Video is the brand new creative video production studio at Gawker Media. This guerrilla team of highly creative and very skillful individuals will create awesome standalone video and series with innovative formats and unique aesthetics across our entire network of sites.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee preditors, editors, and production assistants from start to finish on each production
  • Conceptualize, write, and produce for original short web series
  • Direct live action short web series
  • Assure each phase of projects gets appropriate approvals
  • Coordinate with Production Management for planning of shoots and establishing schedules
Things You Should Have/Be

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong focus on writing and producing comedic videos
  • Excellent communicator
  • Extensive field production experience
  • Maintaining high editorial and storytelling standards
  • Ability to meet fast deadlines is a must
  • General knowledge of Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, various types of audio and digital video equipment including Canon and Sony cameras
