This is disappointing as fuck:

HamNo sounds more like a disciple than a reporter here. Is it that hard to understand that economic equality - which is very, very important - is less important than not being killed? Less important than one’s children not being killed and one’s elderly parents’ not being killed? Not being killed for a “chicken crap” traffic stop, not being killed while playing in the park, not being killed while having an asthma attack or during a wellness check at home, during a mental health crisis, while making eye contact or for generally existing in public and private spaces?

Sanders did add a lengthy racial justice section to his platform today:

That’s a great start. Obviously he’s capable of listening. He needs to do more. (And his crazy-obsessive followers need to stop being so goddamned defensive.) In his platform Sanders dismisses what he calls social issues in favor of economic issues. Apparently it never occurred to a straight man that gay marriage and job protections for LGTBQ people are economic issues. It never occurred to a straight man that abortion and contraception are economic issues for women. Unless and until he formally addresses these issues as well as addressing racial justice to the satisfaction of activists, he won’t have built an economic and political platform worthy of support by the liberal/progressive left.
