Stop sending me emails in which you address me and the co-recipients as "ladies" or, today, most egregiously "gals."
The worst offender is the program director who is a "lady" herself but when she sends out emails to her managers greeting us in the form of "Hey ladies" it's like nails on a blackboard. The (male) person who sent the "Hi gals" email to myself and my director is not above either of us on the org chart, making it all the more obnoxious.
I personally address my staff as "hey team" or if it's more informal "hey guys" or "hey gang." Very occasionally I'll go more formal and write "My dear supervisees..." They love that!
Lady/Ladies is not a proper workplace salutation!
