First off, the mean girl is on her way out - she's leaving in July to be a housewife. I don't know what that's about, but it makes my life a lot easier, because now she's phoning it in and being nice to me and I don't have to see her stupid face after a couple of months.
Another gal has been in juvenile court for way too long and she and the judge are at odds. Being the lowest on the totem pole in terms of seniority, I'm the one who has to replace her. I still get adult trials. But I won't get ten thousand voicemails per day, probation violations, and clients who have perfected the art of conning attorneys and who constantly tell me I'm not a real lawyer. At first I was against this move but I'm getting pretty excited. It's a lighter workload, too, and I get to keep my amazing assistant (we both threw fits when the office manager tried to separate us).
