So tomorrow's my birthday. Today I went to the Met Opera broadcast, and remembered that last year I went to the opera on my birthday, too. Normally the day (and its approach) is a time to feel old, that time is slipping away, etc. But then I realized—if you never want to feel old on your birthday, go to the damn opera, because no matter how old you get, you will be seen as the representative of the Youth of America (TM) by almost everyone there. It's magic!
Also, if you ever get the chance to see Joyce DiDonato, take it—she's worth the price of admission.
