“I watched Sex and the City non-stop and on permanent repeat since its premiere in ’98, hopelessly taken with its portrayal of literary New York.”

Given that Joanna is barely thirty, I have my doubts that she was really watching this show right from the start, when she was a little child, unless her parents had HBO and were very permissible.

I saw the show as a teen because my dad got HBO to watch The Sopranos, so I saw it both on HBO and the edited reruns on TBS. I liked the show, but more so in the early seasons when it reminded me of 90’s indie romantic comedies, not so much when it got swept up in its own hype. And I liked it when it got more serious, like dealing with cancer or infertility. Just not when it got really ridiculous and campy.
