So when the DOMA/Prop 8 rulings were handed down, Remedios asked about conservatives whining about them on Facebook...
I mentioned a former colleague* who asked if this meant that, since bisexuals are attracted to both genders, the law must allow for polygamy in order not to discriminate against them. Had I thought that this was an honest, good-faith question, I would have responded that it was incredibly stupid, but since it was baiting for an argument, I didn't bother.
Flash forward to today's today's story about Costa Rica's shiny new domestic partner law. The picture for the story is of a pretty handsome legislator who supports LGBT rights. He's more attractive, but he looks close enough to the guy from FB that I had to do several double-takes.
*-He's the most cheerful Calvinist I've ever known. When I asked him if he thought I was going to hell, he thought for a second, shrugged, and said, "I dunno...probably." I feel like that should have made me angry, but somehow I couldn't muster outrage.
